By offering tickets online and offline, CYG Pune 2008, in keeping with international standards, has decided to make the process of purchasing tickets to the Games easy and convenient for the Indian consumer. Users are provided the ease of a virtual box office in their homes, offices and on the go, in a seamless transaction experience.

Tickets released cover 8 sports which include: athletics, badminton, boxing, swimming, table tennis, tennis, weightlifting and wrestling and will be sold for individual days of the Games. A Season Ticket for a particular game would entitle a ticket holder to gain access to all the game days during the week-long sporting extravaganza. Corporate and bulk orders will also be taken online. Tickets for the Opening and Closing ceremonies will be sold separately from the Game Day tickets. These tickets can be kept as collectibles, as they will be designed with the CYG look and feel, representing the Games spirit.

Ticket price categories will be as follows:

  1. Opening & Closing Ceremony: Rs.100, Rs.500, Rs.1,000 and Rs.5,000
  2. Games Days: Rs.50, Rs.100 and Rs.500

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Mr. Suresh Kalmadi commented, “We are bringing cutting edge technology and access to the people to enable them to witness a large international sporting event in the historic city of Pune. Majority of the tickets for the Games will be reserved for the two lowest-priced categories, so the many students and youth of the city have the opportunity to witness this gala sporting event.”

Neetu Bhatia, Chairman and CEO of KyaZoonga, a Puneite and a former national cricketer herself, said, “Having convenient, safe, quick and easy access to tickets to your favorite sport is every fan’s dream. Having just successfully completed ticketing for the inaugural DLF-IPL season in Mumbai and Delhi, we hope to make the dream a reality for all other sports’ fans in the country as well.” Ms. Bhatia also stressed on the security measures undertaken for the tickets to ensure no duplication or fraud of the tickets.
